Football table, Embleton, St. George’s Park
Embleton ward are delighted to have received funds from SHINE to purchase activity equipment which included a table football.
Embleton ward at St George’s Park, Morpeth received funds from the Trust’s charity to purchase a range of activity equipment for patients use whilst on the ward. Embleton is an acute admission service for men over the age of 18 years who require an assessment and/or treatment.
Alison Chandler, a ward administrator on Embleton has told us the football table is used often by the patients including tournaments which are organised by the activity workers on the ward. Everyone loves to participate and enjoys the social aspect.
Social activities like the above help with recovery and are a starting point for patients to come together and talk. If it wasn’t for SHINE, large expensive pieces of equipment wouldn’t be available to the patients
