North East Drive Mobility – Driving and Passenger Assessment Service

North East Drive Mobility is also based at Walkergate Park. They carry out powered wheelchair assessments, and work alongside our Mobility Hubs Advice Service for those who are looking for alternatives to driving.

Adapt North East – Community Transport

Adapt is a community transport scheme with a fleet of wheelchair accessible cars. For a small membership fee they can take you to and from appointments and social visits, or assist with shopping trips.

Applying for a Blue Badge

Blue Badges help people with disabilities or health conditions park closer to their destination. Some people automatically qualify for a Blue Badge depending on the benefits they receive. Other people may be eligible depending on their circumstances.
