Gateshead and South Tyneside Learning Disability Psychological Services provide specialist assessments, formulation and interventions for adults with learning disabilities, their families, informal carers and paid care staff from various providers. Consultation is provided when appropriate on a 1:1 basis and within MDT forums and formulation meetings. Training is also provided in relation to individual referrals and to members of the workforce from various disciplines including staff on University training courses. Supervision is provided to psychologists within the service and in training and to staff from other disciplines according to need.
How to get referred
Referrals are taken in writing or over the phone by anyone associated with the identified client with consent from the person if able. Self referrals are also accepted.
