North East Drive Mobility are supported by the Department for Transport to provide free assistance through the North East and Cumbria Hubs Mobility Advice Service.
This assistance includes a bespoke signposting service to increase client independence and reduce isolation and loneliness for older and disabled people. Specifically, to provide advice on access to public transport and alternative travel options for people who are advised to stop driving and those unable to learn to drive. By finding solutions to enable more people to retain mobility, the Hubs Mobility Advice Service will improve equality of opportunity for disabled and older people.
The bespoke service will aim to provide tailor made advice and support to people within the areas of North East and Cumbria and help them better understand the options available to them including bus, rail, community, air and ferry transport in both your local areas and throughout England. The service will also support people who feel isolated or lonely within the communities and signpost them in the direction of services that may be able to help in the area.
