Information for Health Professionals
If you are considering making a referral to Northumberland Recovery Partnership please ensure you have discussed your concerns with the person in question and that they fully agree to the referral as we are a voluntary service and individuals have to show some level of motivation to engage in treatment, unless they are subject to a court order.
Please also consider their level and frequency of use to decide if educational work is more appropriate before referring to NRP’s structured treatment programme. Consider completing the alcohol audit below.
There are a number of online interventions available, where you can direct service users for education and support;
- drinkaware.co.uk (online support tools including alcohol diaries and unit calculators)
- talktofrank.com (drug information)
- smartrecovery.org.uk (information on smart recovery mutual aid meetings and the opportunity to access meetings online)
- alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk (alcoholics anonymous meeting locations and online meeting access)
- ukna.org (narcotics anonymous meeting locations and online meeting access)
- www.re-solv.org (advice and information on solvent abuse)
