NHS Sunderland Talking Therapies is the new name for Sunderland Psychological Wellbeing service and has been changed as part of a national rebrand. It offers the same range of psychological treatment interventions to people with common mental health problems who have a low to moderate level of need.
NHS Sunderland Talking Therapies is a partnership between Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, Sunderland Counselling Service, Sunderland MIND and Washington MIND.
A city wide team providing quick access to assessment and a range of psychological treatment interventions to those people with common mental health problems who have a low to moderate level of need. Interventions are offered from a range of community venues across Sunderland including Sunderland MIND, Washington MIND, Sunderland Counselling Services, Grange Park Clinic and GP practices.
The team consists of Community Psychiatrist Nurses (CPNs), Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), Counsellors, and Administrative Staff.

Referrals From Service Users:
By telephone on 0191 566 5454. This is a dedicated Self-Referral Line which is available Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
By completing an online self-referral form at NHS Sunderland Talking Therapies
